Diggy - Army Troop Units in Clash of Clans

Clan Badge

“Diggy is an introvert and spends a lot of time hiding underground. Still when it comes to battle, he'll do his part, coming up to attack buildings and aid his Hero . If his Hero's taken out, he'll seek out a new one for support and scritches.”

  • Diggy is the sixth pet unlocked, which is done when the Pet House is upgraded to level 6 (this requires Town Hall level 15).
  • Diggy burrows underground to attack buildings and troops, just like the Miner and his super counterpart , allowing him to bypass Walls (despite this, he will target Walls if his Hero attacks them). If he surfaces against a defensive building (which includes the Town Hall, if its weapon is activated), he stuns it for a short period of time. He will not stun defending Heroes and troops in the same way if he attacks them.
  • Diggy prioritizes the target that his paired Hero is currently targeting. If the Hero is knocked out, Diggy will seek out a new Hero, behaving as though he was paired with that Hero. If his paired Hero attacks an aerial unit, he will go towards the nearest building instead. If there are no Heroes for him to pair with, or if his Hero is removed from battle by a Recall Spell , Diggy will behave like a troop with no preferential target; he will attack the nearest building to him regardless of type, and will turn and attack enemy units if he becomes aware of any nearby and can fight back against them.
  • Diggy obviously works best against defenses, since his stun will prevent them attacking for a period of time. Thus, pairing him with the Royal Champion , the Hero who largely prioritizes defenses, is ideal. Pairing him with the Grand Warden can be a viable option should the Champion be unavailable (or opts to use another Pet), due to the Warden's ability to bypass walls meaning Diggy will not get stuck on a Wall. He could even work for the Archer Queen , assuming you funnel the Archer Queen correctly and Diggy does not move too far.

  • Compared to the L.A.S.S.I (a popular pairing with the Champion), Diggy has more utility owing to his stun ability, but his burrowing underground exposes the Champion to fire whereas the L.A.S.S.I, who moves in front of the Champion, would take hits for the Champion instead. Thus, to extend the Royal Champion's survivability, L.A.S.S.I may be more useful against large groups of defenses, while Diggy works better against smaller groups.
  • Diggy's stun effect can be very beneficial in a Hero Dive to get more value out of your Heroes, and to stun important defenses attacking your Heroes.
  • Diggy is also useful as a small tank, as he has the second-most health of all the pets, behind only the Mighty Yak . However, because he burrows underground to move, he will not be able to tank all the time.
  • If the Royal Champion activates the Rocket Spear ability, Diggy will go for the nearest defense she targets while she is out of range of other defenses. This can be very helpful if you want to stun a major defense from dealing too much damage in your army, which increases the survivability of your units in an attack. Be careful of longer ranged defenses like X-Bows , Monoliths, and Firespitters , though, as they will outrange her, and possibly cause her to get severely damaged, if not defeat her.

  • Diggy is very effective at reducing the threat of high damage dealing defenses like the Inferno Tower and the Monolith as he can stun buildings when resurfacing. Consider placing these sorts of defenses in range of one another to help take out Diggy and other attacking units.
  • Since Diggy can burrow underground and bypass Walls like Miners, he can often get to the outside/inside buildings to clean up if the opponent's army will take more time to get there. Therefore, spreading out your base and occupying the most space possible may be the difference between a high 2 star or a 3 star.
  • Diggy appears to be a reptile, most likely a light indigo, pangolin-reptile hybrid, with dinosaur-like feet which helps him to burrow. Each of the scales on his body grows pinker near the ends. His lower jaw has jagged edges which appear to look like teeth. In the Indonesian language, he was referred to as a "pangolin".
  • In the French version of the game, Diggy is called "Pablo".
