  • The Battle Drill is the seventh Siege Machine to be unlocked, when the Workshop is upgraded to level 7 (this requires Town Hall level 15).
  • The Battle Drill burrows underground towards defenses, bypassing walls, then pops up and stunning all defenses in a small area around it for a short time once it surfaces. Once its target is destroyed, it will burrow underground towards its next target. The Battle Drill also instantly destroys any Walls it comes into contact with when it surfaces.
  • The Battle Drill also instantly destroys any Walls it comes into contact with when it surfaces.
  • Battle Drills prioritize defensive structures above all other targets, and will bypass all other types of enemy buildings and troops while any defenses remain on the battlefield. This is true even if they are under attack by enemy Clan Castle troops, Heroes or Skeleton Trap skeletons. Note that like all troops that prioritize defenses, Battle Drills do not consider the Clan Castle to be a defense regardless of whether or not it contains enemy troops, but do consider the activated Town Hall weapon (if any) to be defensive buildings. Once all defenses are destroyed, Battle Drills become like any other troop with no preferred target; they will attack the nearest building to them regardless of type, and will turn and attack enemy units if they become aware of any nearby and can fight back against them. However, they will not switch targets to enemy units until their previous target was destroyed.
  • The Battle Drill requires a level 9 Clan Castle in order to be received as a Clan Castle reinforcement. This means that the usage of the Battle Drill is only limited to players at Town Hall 13 and above.
  • Since it is able to stun defenses, this means it can reset single-target Inferno Towers . You can use the Battle Drill alongside a Hero thus creating a great hero dive, hence it can be good with the Royal Champion, since they are both defense-targeting.
  • Be careful with the position of defensive buildings, because since the Battle Drill can instantly destroy any level of walls, it may open compartments where you may not want your main army to go, so be careful of that.
  • Stocking the Battle Drill with high damage dealing troops, such as P.E.K.K.As , Electro Dragons , and Valkyries , and supported with Rage Spells, can reap high value by taking out high-priority defenses when it is destroyed.
  • It can effectively take out defenses with blind spots like the Eagle Artillery , Mortar , and Scattershot due to its melee nature and its relatively high damage.
  • You can activate a weaponized Town Hall with an Earthquake Spell and the sending the Battle Drill to then snipe it if there isn't enough support around the Town Hall.
  • Because of its burrowing nature, you can merge the Battle Drill with attacks with such as Queen Charge Miners and Hybrid. Make sure that you have previously funneled, though, or they might not go in the same direction.
  • Pairing the Battle Drill with a Royal Champion paired with Diggy allows you to stun multiple defenses, thus helping your army. However, the stun effect will not stack, so make sure they do not go onto the same defense.
  • However, the stun effect will not stack, so make sure they do not go onto the same defense.
  • A disadvantage to the Battle Drill is the somewhat mediocre attack rate, as high damage defenses can take it down with little to no damage done. Always have an Inferno Tower , Monolith , or a Scattershot in places where you think the Battle Drill could reach.

  • Inferno Towers , Monolith , Multi-Archer Towers (only if the Battle Drill in its range and no nearby units to hit), Ricochet Cannons and Scattershots are good ways to counter the Battle Drill, with the Inferno Tower and Monolith for their high damage, Ricochet Cannons and Multi-Archer Towers to heavily damage the Siege Machine and the Scattershot to destroy low-health troops inside it. However, make sure to distract them with other defenses, as if it locks on, it could potentially reset the damage, and if it burrows underground, it will actually reset the Inferno Tower. Skeleton Traps are a good way to deal damage onto the Battle Drill. As the Siege Machine will not attack the skeletons, if it is alone, the Siege Machine might be destroyed prematurely. Rage Spell Towers are also a good way to add damage onto defenses that are targeting the Battle Drill.

  • Initially, the Battle Drill is a vermilion wooden box with a large auger attached to the front of a large gear and has metal plating added on the center. There is a small window with a reinforced metal frame at the top of the drill. Below the window is a skull with pointed ears, which represents the Goblin . When initially deployed, the Battle Drill's auger faces downward to burrow, becoming invincible and untargetable while underground. Once it reaches a defensive building, it faces towards the targeted defense and surfaces as its auger destroys nearby walls, stunning them for a short time. It then attacks by bashing the auger to the target using its springs every 1.7s. Once the Battle Drill's target is destroyed, it falls back underground to burrow again. The attack cycle repeats until it is destroyed, where any Clan Castle troops (if any) come out afterwards.
  • At level 2, the Battle Drill has a golden "II" roman numeral attached to the front, and the wooden part of the window becomes metal.
  • At level 3, the roman numeral becomes "III", and the studs on the window face become golden.
  • At level 4, the roman numeral becomes "IV". The entire window frame becomes golden and a gold ring is added to the the drill.
  • At level 5, the Roman numeral becomes "V", and the gear of the drill becomes golden.
  • Reduced upgrade time at level 13 from 13d 12h to 9d.
  • Reduced upgrade cost at level 13 from 19,000,000 to 17,000,000.

  • The Battle Drill is very similar to the Goblin Drill from Clash Royale in terms of appearance. In Clash Royale, the Goblin Drill can be deployed in the opposing territory like the Miner , while the Battle Drill burrows to the next target each time it moves, like the Miner in Clash of Clans.

  • The Battle Drill is one of only three Siege Machines to have a name that is not an alliteration, the others being the Siege Barracks and Troop Launcher .
  • Uniquely when donated or received via donation, the Battle Drill travels on an 8-wheeled platform instead of moving normally by burrowing to reach the Clan Castle unlike other Siege Machines.
  • The Battle Drill is one of three Siege Machines which target defenses, the others being the Stone Slammer and the Flame Flinger.
