Summary

The Rage Vial is a piece of Hero Equipment for the Barbarian King . It is one of the two Hero Equipment that he starts with, the other being the Barbarian Puppet .
The Rage Vial appears as a slightly cracked rectangular cubical vial filled with purple liquid. It has a cubic cork that connects to a chain with a broken link and covers the vial's opening. When equipped, it enrages the Barbarian King when he uses his ability. During this rage, the Barbarian King deals extra damage and moves faster.
In addition to the ability, the Rage Vial grants additional damage per second to the Barbarian King, and increases the amount of health he recovers when using the ability.

Strategies

The Rage Vial is the most effective means of increasing the Barbarian King's damage, since the Rage Spell has halved effects on him, meaning that it can only grant a 90% damage increase at best (the Grand Warden 's Rage Gem has an even lower damage increase).
The Rage Vial is also the most effective means of boosting his speed since the Haste Spell 's speed buff is likewise halved on him.
Pairing the Rage Vial with Earthquake Boots is a potentially viable strategy, since the earthquake will destroy Walls when the ability is used, possibly opening up a compartment for the Barbarian King to charge through.
The Rage Vial pairs well with the Giant Gauntlet , the high damage increase and the Splash makes the Barbarian king a very strong attacker, and can tear down compartments with ease. The damage reduction on top of the movement speed increase making him lead the way helps tank for other troops.
Combining the Rage Vial with the Vampstache can be useful to maximize the damage dealt during the ability, since the Barbarian King's attack speed is passively increased while equipping the Vampstache. However, Giant Gauntlet is usually a more effective pairing as it allows the King to do considerable area damage, hitting multiple targets at once.

Defensive Strategies

Separate key defenses into separate compartments to minimize the possibility of the Barbarian King wreaking havoc during the ability. Due to his very fast movement speed and high damage during the ability, it is a likelihood that entire compartments can be destroyed single-handedly by the King.
Defending troops, Heroes and Skeleton Traps can be an effective means of stalling the Barbarian King; even though he can cut through them very quickly, some of the ability duration will be lost in doing so. However, Barbarian Kings equipping the Giant Gauntlet may defeat them quicker due to its Area of Effect damage.
