  • The Dark Crown is an Epic piece of Hero Equipment for the Minion Prince , that can be bought from the June 2025 Dark Deal event.
  • The Dark Crown appears similarly to that of the Minion Prince's crown, but only darker. It has a passive ability that activates whenever 60 total housing space worth of troops is defeated. The Minion Prince grows larger, increases his health, and boosts his damage up to three times until he is defeated, each one granting him one-third of the max health and damage increase boost. Therefore, to get the full effect of this ability, 180 total housing space worth of troops must be destroyed. The housing space defeated does not distinguish between the raiding or defending troops, this means subtroops, defending Heroes and Clan Castle troops, and even Skeletons from Skeleton Traps count toward the total.
  • The housing space defeated does not distinguish between the raiding or defending troops, this means subtroops, defending Heroes and Clan Castle troops, and even Skeletons from Skeleton Traps count toward the total.
  • In addition to the ability, the Dark Crown also gives the Minion Prince increased health and attack speed.
  • When the Dark Crown is used in battle, a dark aura surrounds the Minion Prince. When friendly units are defeated, the aura will absorb dark energy. For every 60 housing space of troops defeated, up to 180, a circular burst will radiate from the Minion Prince, and he will be enlarged, growing roughly about 5% of his size, for a maximum of about 15% at its third level, which works similarly to the activated the Giant Gauntlet from the Barbarian King .
  • The Dark Crown calculates the amount of housing space for each unit, so that when that unit dies, it will start charging up the level of the Dark Crown, and will take effect once it reaches the threshold, up to three times. So long as the Minion Prince is in the map, any attacking units that perish regardless of range will contribute to the level of the Dark Crown ability. Defending units (Heroes, Clan Castle troops, Skeleton Trap skeletons) do not count toward the total. Attacking Heroes except the Minion Prince himself count, adding 25 housing space when they are defeated in a battle. This can be counted multiple times if the Hero is revived and defeated again. Spells cannot contribute to the ability, since they are objects and are not counted as troops. Pets also add to the counter, contributing 20 housing space each. Subtroops such as the Witch's Skeletons , the Super Witch 's Big Boy , and the Siege Barracks ' P.E.K.K.A will also contribute to the ability. Siege Machines , cloned troops (including cloned Archer Queens ), certain spells that summon units, and the Minion Prince himself do not count. Troops that destroy themselves in making their attack ( Wall Breakers , Yetimites , etc.) will count. The Druid will not add any housing space if he transforms into a Bear after surviving long enough in his Druid form. He does add housing space if he transforms by having his health depleted or if defeated directly by a Spring Trap . Any units that are destroyed while the Minion Prince is recalled do not count. The Dark Crown's counter will continue to accumulate even while the Minion Prince is defeated, so if he is revived later, he can benefit from the Dark Crown's effects.

  • The Dark Crown's benefits act as buffs, rather than direct modifiers to the Minion Prince's base stats. Thus, it does not stack with Rage Spells (whose higher damage buff will override the Dark Crown's damage boost) or a Life Aura generated by Apprentice Warden .
  • The Dark Crown allows the Minion Prince to deal more damage, allowing him to quickly deal with high-hitpoint buildings and enemy Heroes , especially when the main army is losing power against the backend of the base, ensuring better survivability.
  • There are different interactions when pairing this with other Hero Equipment: When paired with the Henchmen Puppet , both Henchmen can give one-third of the charge of the Dark Crown requirement so that the Minion Prince will become enraged when they are defeated. When paired with the Dark Orb , both of these Hero Equipment can synergize well in battle, especially to slow down dense areas of the base with high damage, and if the army is defeated, the Minion Prince therefore becomes stronger and may be able to finish off the base if the Dark Orb is used correctly. This also allows the player to only focus on the Dark Orb timing to increase the chance of a successful attack. When paired with the Metal Pants , the Minion Prince can reduce the amount of damage, especially when tackling a high-damage compartment of the base. Best used in a Minion Charge, where the Minion Prince can be supported by Invisibility Spells and a Rage Spell. However, this may not be a good combo, as the passive ability will be useless if you send him alone. When paired with the Noble Iron , the Minion Prince will first snipe at enemy buildings before he gets closer to damage his targets, but like the Dark Crown with the Metal Pants, they may not synergize well.

  • If the Minion Prince is exposed by high-damage defenses and traps such as Seeking Air Mines , Giga Bomb , Air Defenses , Scattershots and Firespitters without being protected by other aerial troops, the ability will be rendered useless.
  • The Minion Prince can become very dangerous for your defenses, especially if he is supported by aerial units like Dragons , Electro Dragons , Dragon Riders and Lava Hounds . Arrange defenses and traps carefully to increase the chances of a successful defense. Defending Heroes and Clan Castle troops can also help in this regard.
  • Before the Dark Crown is released on March 24, 2025, a lot of subtroops and even a troop that do not have an offensive equivalent have their housing space reduced preemptively to reduce the extra housing space generated by them outside of the main army and the defending troops. A list of housing space changes are as follows: Lava Pup , Ice Pup , and Lavaloon Pup : 2 -> 1 Yetimite : 3 -> 1 Big Boy : 20 -> 10 Bear : 16 -> 10 Skeleton Trap Air Skeleton: 2 -> 1 However, this inadvertently made the Yetimites and the accidentally released Electromites extremely effective at 1 housing space with Clone Spells , which also based the amount of troops cloned on housing space. Later on April 14, 2025, Yetimite's housing space is increased to 2 and the official release of Electromite on May 12, 2025 increased it to 3.
