Summary

The Bomber is a Builder Base Troop unlocked once the Builder Barracks has been upgraded to level 5. He throws explosives at foes from range with a large AOE, inflicting 15x damage to Walls . He is the Builder Base troop version of the Wall Breaker .
Bombers have no preferred target when attacking; however unlike other troops with no preferred target, Bombers treat walls just like any other building, and will target and attack both walls and buildings, whichever is closest. Bombers are able to do extra damage to Walls . If they become aware of enemy Guard Post troops or Zappies (either by being attacked themselves or being near another friendly troop under attack), they will leave their previously targeted structure and engage the enemy troops instead. Once all the nearby enemy troops are defeated, they will proceed to attack the nearest building (or wall) from their current location.
His ability, Bouncing Bomb , enables him to throw a large bomb that bounces forward similar to a Bowler 's boulder, dealing damage twice, once for each time it hits the ground. The ability can be re-used once every 22 seconds.

Offensive Strategies

Since Bombers are fragile and do not offer much output due to their limited quantity, it is recommended to place them behind a ground tank, such as Boxer Giants , Battle Machine or Super P.E.K.K.As so they can safely shatter walls. Bombers at above level 13 or above can in fact destroy any level of walls. Otherwise, a Double Cannon , Mega Mine , or multiple Mines will instantly kill the Bomber before he can throw his bomb.

A single Army Camp of Bombers will pair well with Raged Barbarians especially when the Raged Barbarians are level 10 or higher, as the Raged Barbarians can temporarily distract enemy defenses, allowing Bombers to safely destroy Walls , making the base vulnerable to attack.
Unlike the Wall Breaker and the Super Wall Breaker , Bombers are not kamikaze units, and do not actually prefer to target walls, so you need to clear out nearby buildings to make use of their abilities.
They are effective at destroying Walls to let the Battle Machine and high level troops in, as players typically use walls to funnel troops. Bombers eliminate the risk of them being lured within range of something dangerous, such as a Crusher or Mega Mine.
The Bomber can also easily take out Guard Post troops with his area damage splash, preventing them from distracting your other units.
The Bomber's bomb can destroy a Wall behind a 3x3 or smaller building touching the Walls so find a building that is touching the Walls such as an Army Camp or Firecrackers and deploy a Bomber behind it to use the Big Bomb ability to destroy both the Building and the Walls but as the gap is not big, funneling may still be needed.
When attacking a building (or wall) that is 3x3 or smaller, any wall or building located next to it without any space between will also be damaged. This will in effect increase the range of the bomber to be able to destroy short range towers without being attacked back. Example of this is if the Bomber targets a storage building, and a Double Cannon is behind it.

Upgrade Differences

Initially, the Bomber appears as a Skeleton carrying a bomb. He wears copper gloves, a blue aviator helmet and gold-rimmed goggles. At level 5, the bomb that the Bomber carries is now larger. At level 9, the Bomber's gloves are now steel blue instead of copper. At level 12, the Bomber now wears a face shield, but retains his goggles. At level 14, the Bomber's face shield gains a visor in place of his goggles. His gloves are now golden. At level 18, the Bomber's bomb turns beige, and it has a black band with gold spikes around it. At level 20, the Bomber's bomb becomes golden. The black band is covered with gold plates with spikes on them.
