- The Battle Drill is the seventh Siege Machine to be unlocked, when the Workshop is upgraded to level 7 (this requires Town Hall level 15).
- The Battle Drill burrows underground towards defenses, bypassing walls, then pops up and stunning all defenses in a small area around it for a short time once it surfaces. Once its target is destroyed, it will burrow underground towards its next target. The Battle Drill also instantly destroys any Walls it comes into contact with when it surfaces.

- Battle Drills prioritize defensive structures above all other targets, and will bypass all other types of enemy buildings and troops while any defenses remain on the battlefield. This is true even if they are under attack by enemy Clan Castle troops, Heroes or Skeleton Trap skeletons. Note that like all troops that prioritize defenses, Battle Drills do not consider the Clan Castle to be a defense regardless of whether or not it contains enemy troops, but do consider the activated Town Hall weapon (if any) to be defensive buildings. Once all defenses are destroyed, Battle Drills become like any other troop with no preferred target; they will attack the nearest building to them regardless of type, and will turn and attack enemy units if they become aware of any nearby and can fight back against them. - Stocking the Battle Drill with high damage dealing troops, such as P.E.K.K.As , Electro Dragons , and Valkyries , and supported with Rage Spells, can reap high value by taking out high-priority defenses when it is destroyed.
- It can effectively take out defenses with blind spots like the Eagle Artillery , Mortar , and Scattershot due to its melee nature and its relatively high damage.
- You can activate a weaponized Town Hall with an Earthquake Spell and the sending the Battle Drill to then snipe it if there isn't enough support around the Town Hall.
- Because of its burrowing nature, you can merge the Battle Drill with attacks with such as Queen Charge Miners and Hybrid. Make sure that you have previously funneled, though, or they might not go in the same direction.

- Initially, the Battle Drill is a vermilion wooden box with a large auger attached to the front of a large gear and has metal plating added on the center. There is a small window with a reinforced metal frame at the top of the drill. Below the window is a skull with pointed ears, which represents the Goblin .
