  • The Hidden Mega Tesla is a defensive building in the Clan Capital, unlocked at Capital Hall level 4.
  • The Hidden Mega Tesla combines aspects from the Hidden Tesla found in the Home Village and Builder Base, and the Mega Tesla found in the Builder Base. It is a defense initially hidden to attackers that only appears once attackers enter its range or once 51% of the district it is in has been destroyed. Once revealed, the Hidden Mega Tesla remains revealed for all subsequent attacks on the district.
  • The Hidden Mega Tesla attacks with chain lightning similarly to the Mega Tesla; its attack can chain onto a second nearby target, damaging the second target for 80% of the damage on the primary target.
  • Because of its nature as a trap building, it does not create a no-spawn zone unlike other buildings, allowing one to deploy troops on top of a Hidden Mega Tesla if it is sufficiently isolated from other buildings.
  • The main advantage of the Hidden Mega Tesla is that it is a surprise. Capitalize on that. A well-placed Hidden Mega Tesla can wreak havoc on an attacker's offensive strategy.
  • Unfortunately, many players design their villages such that it has only as many 2x2 open spaces within its layout as it has Hidden Mega Teslas (and possibly Mega Mines ) available, which makes it obvious where they are located. Instead, try to make sure that there are a few different places where Hidden Teslas could be lurking. A good strategy is to create "dummy" 2x2 open spaces to make the enemy think they know where your Hidden Mega Teslas are. You could create empty 2x2 spaces in your base which are actually empty, while deploying your Hidden Mega Teslas elsewhere, increasing the chances of surprising your opponent. Alternatively, the Hidden Mega Tesla can be covered by obstacles so that the opponent may time fail, and possibly even waste their attacks. This also applies to placing them in the edges of the map.

  • Make sure to place your Hidden Mega Tesla in a space where troops cannot be placed (an empty space no larger than 2x2), as unlike other defenses structures, Hidden Mega Teslas do not expand your no-spawn zone, meaning that troops can be placed directly on top of a Hidden Mega Tesla.
  • A common but powerful strategy is to group up three or four Hidden Mega Teslas together, along with traps in between, called a Tesla Farm. Teslas combine to tons of damage, and their smaller size compared to other defenses groups troops together, maximizing the potential of them. This is best used either protected in the core of the base or off side near the trash buildings. The advantage of this play is that the extreme power and surprise can draw out spells and ruin the attacker's plan. However, this strategy is weak to units that deal splash damage, especially the Mega Sparky .
  • However, this strategy is weak to units that deal splash damage, especially the Mega Sparky .
  • The Hidden Mega Tesla deals high damage, but has a low fire rate and can only hit up to two targets per attack. It is therefore most specialized at attacking troops that are relatively low in numbers, such as Capital Super Dragons and Capital Inferno Dragons .
  • The Hidden Mega Tesla is useful to surprise attackers with high two-target damage. Placing one among a group of area defenses can patch up their weaknesses against high-health troops. They can also be placed in otherwise undefended locations to stop single troops from clearing out the area.
  • Like with Hidden Teslas from the Home Village and Builder Base, they can be placed in distant locations far away from the action as a "troll Tesla" which disrupts defense-targeting troops and may cause time fails. The Wizard Valley district is notoriously adept for this strategy, due to its back corners being natural hiding locations.
  • A major weakness of the Hidden Mega Tesla is their very poor handling of swarms, only being able to destroy two troops every four seconds. This can be mitigated by using area-damage defenses like the Multi Mortar to defend them, or by using traps like Mines and Mega Mines to destroy swarms outright.
  • The Hidden Mega Tesla can hit Sneaky Archers with its chain effect, if there is another valid target nearby for it to fire upon.

  • Before attacking, look for obvious places where a Hidden Mega Tesla might be located, and avoid them. Hidden Mega Teslas will activate when troops come close to them. If one happens to trigger, keep in mind that it has a low range. If you cannot destroy it easily, avoid deploying more troops near it if possible, as Hidden Mega Teslas can deal high amounts of damage.
  • If you see a 2x2 empty square space surrounded by Capital Walls , it is very likely that a Hidden Mega Tesla has been placed there. Be aware that Hidden Mega Teslas are only for Capital Hall 4 and higher. If the Capital Hall is at least level 2, it is most likely a Capital Mega Mine .
  • Assuming nothing goes wrong, a Super Giant and a few Sneaky Archers can quite easily destroy a Hidden Mega Tesla.
  • The Hidden Mega Tesla is extremely weak against swarms, so Capital Super Barbarians can have an advantage since they would only be able to take out two at a time.
  • Flying Fortresses can tank several shots from the Mega Tesla and drop Skeletons to distract it and potentially deal damage (though minor).
  • A trio of Skeleton Barrels can easily overwhelm or even take out a Hidden Mega Tesla for only 15 housing space, given that there are no splash defenses or traps nearby.
  • Some people have purposeful spawn points inside Walls, but place a Hidden Tesla to deceive the enemy.
  • If there is space next to the District / Capital Hall , there may be a Tesla farm. Be careful!
  • If you have the opportunity to observe a village prior to the attack, such as when scouting, then watch the Villagers . They can reveal the location of Hidden Mega Teslas by walking up to the "empty" spot where the Tesla is hidden and clapping. However, this is not guaranteed, as you might waste your 30 seconds of planning.
  • If there is a large area of 2x2, 2x3, or 2x4 spots on the outside of the base, but not found much elsewhere, it is likely a tesla farm. Use a minor troop to trigger it, or just attack by air on the farm.
  • Hidden Mega Teslas undergo significant visual changes at levels 2, 4, and 5. When initially rebuilt, it is composed of a pyramid-type wooden building with a cerulean platform, a bronze electricity discharging tip (with an iron fitting), and a wooden lattice. It includes two wooden trapdoors at the bottom. At level 2, the Tesla showcases its source of electricity at the bottom. Atop, the fitting of the electricity discharging tip is made with a bronze metal. The tower itself becomes taller due to the added metal supports of the source at the base of the foundation along with some additional nailed-together wood panels to enlarge the lattice. The ropes supporting the wooden lattice at the upper half of the tower are removed. At level 3, the inner parts of both the trapdoors are now painted with a cerulean color. In addition, a dark-colored metal platform is added above the cerulean platform. The fitting along with its tip gets remade, once again, using a gold metal. At level 4, the tip receives golden metal spiked projections. The platform of the tower receives cerulean metal guards at the corners. The foundation of the tower is changed with riveted cerulean metal legs and more refined wooden panels within the legs. Some of these panels have a copper paint job. At level 5, a series of golden coils gets added to almost completely cover the entire top platform and tip. The edges of the cerulean guards get trims of golden metal. A golden symbol gets added at one side of the tower to obscure the panels.
