  • The Barbarian Kicker is a temporary troop introduced in May 2024, for the Clash with Haaland season. The Barbarian Kicker is available from Town Hall level 3.
  • The Barbarian Kicker is a Barbarian wearing a vermilion jersey and white shorts, and wielding a football (from association football). When initially deployed, the Barbarian Kicker moves towards a defense and targets it with a free kick from very long range (11 tiles), doing serious single-target damage on impact. After the football is kicked, the Barbarian Kicker acts as a melee unit, using kick attacks with no preferential targeting. The Barbarian Kicker requires time to set up the free kick, with there being a short delay of about 3.5 seconds between startup and launching the football. If there are no defenses to target, the Barbarian Kicker's free kick will be aimed at the closest building or ground troop or wall (the kick cannot hit air troops).

  • Barbarian Kickers have no preferred target when attacking; they will simply attack the closest building . However, if they become aware of enemy Clan Castle troops , Heroes , or Skeleton Trap skeletons (either by being attacked themselves or by being near another friendly troop under attack), and can fight back against them, they will leave their previously targeted building and instead engage the enemy troops. Once all of the nearby enemy troops are defeated, the Barbarian Kickers will proceed to attack the nearest structure.
  • Their high Free Kick damage can destroy most weaker defenses in a single hit, while two such Free Kicks can destroy any defense except the Town Hall , so make sure you use them wisely to avoid wasting the high damage potential. This high damage can be increased further by Rage Spells , allowing a single Barbarian Kicker to one-shot any relative-level defense apart from the Town Hall. A weaponized Town Hall can be sniped by using a single raged Barbarian Kicker alongside an Earthquake Spell to weaken and activate it.

  • They can be used outside the base to snipe crucial defenses, since the range of the free kick is massive, and the damage is also very high overall. Their ability to one-shot defenses allows them to assist in funnelling defense-targeting troops. Even if the Barbarian Kicker does not outrange certain defenses, the Kicker's relatively high hitpoints allows the Kicker to often survive long enough to get the Free Kick off.

  • The Free Kick only considers targets when the troop is deployed, i.e. 11 tiles from where the Barbarian Kicker is deployed, so use accurate placements or the damage will simply be wasted. This is unlike the Grand Warden's Fireball, where it has unlimited targeting range. Alternatively, the player can utilize Overgrowth Spells in order to ensure that the Barbarian Kicker targets the correct defenses.
  • Be very careful when targeting certain defensive buildings with the Barbarian Kicker. For example if the player uses an army without any air troops, then the player should avoid using Barbarian Kicker's Free Kick to target Air Defenses or Air Sweepers , as that would be a waste of the ability.

  • Preventing the Barbarian Kicker's Free Kick is very difficult since the Kicker's high hitpoints prevents the Kicker from being defeated easily, even when using defenses that can reach and target the Kicker. Instead minimise the Free Kick's potential by placing strong defenses closer to the core to prevent Barbarian Kickers from easily reaching and kicking at them.
  • A Spring Trap can be used to outright defeat a Barbarian Kicker but this requires anticipating the Kicker's deployment location.
  • Hidden Teslas placed near likely deployment locations, such that they trigger when Barbarian Kickers are deployed in such locations, can cause the Barbarian Kicker to target the Tesla instead of a more valuable defense.
  • Set up defenses to confuse the attacker, so that it will be harder to determine where the closer defense is, that way, you can potentially confuse the attacker, so that the free kick does not hit the strong defenses.
  • X-Bows and other defenses of similar ranges can outrange the Barbarian Kicker with his Free Kick. However, make sure that these defenses must be protected by minor defenses, such as a Cannon .
  • You could have a maximum of 28 Barbarian Kickers at one time in a complete set of fully upgraded Army Camps . On the battlefield, you could clone an additional 12 Barbarian Kickers with four fully upgraded Clone Spells (three from the regular spell inventory and one from a level 10 or higher Clan Castle). These total to a maximum of 40 Barbarian Kickers.
  • The Barbarian Kicker is based on Erling Haaland , a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Manchester City and the Norway national team.
