  • The Barcher is one of four temporary troops introduced in the Mashup Madness event for Clash-o-Ween 2023, where it could be unlocked after accumulating 2,000 Sour Elixir in the event. It returned in the Mashup Mania event for Clash-o-Ween 2024, where it again can be unlocked with the same amount of Sour Elixir.
  • The Barcher resembles similarly to a Barbarian , except that it wields a metallic bow instead of a sword, its skin is pastel blue and nose is pink, has yellow glowing eyes, wears a lime cloak, claret spiked wristbands and cardinal belt, and carries a quiver full of metal arrows.
  • The Barcher combines aspects of the Barbarian and the Archer, more specifically their variants, Raged Barbarian and Sneaky Archer . For the first five seconds after deployment, the Barcher attacks and moves faster, deals increased damage, and remains invisible to defenses.
  • The Barcher cannot be upgraded in the Laboratory . Its level is instead determined by the player's Town Hall level.
  • Barchers have no preferred target when attacking; they will simply attack the closest building . However, if they become aware of enemy Clan Castle troops , Heroes , or Skeleton Trap skeletons (either by being attacked themselves or by being near another friendly troop under attack), and can fight back against them, they will leave their previously targeted building and instead engage the enemy troops. Once all of the nearby enemy troops are defeated, the Barchers will proceed to attack the nearest structure.
  • Barchers are very useful in lower Town Hall levels, especially at Town Halls 6, as they can snipe resource buildings, just like the Sneaky Goblin does. This makes a viable strategy to take the resources from the defender. A good idea would be to place them first to take advantage of their ability, then put tanks in front as they become visible, so they are not harmed.

  • Barchers can cause a Hidden Tesla to pop up even when concealed.
  • Barchers are good at quickly eliminating defensive buildings, but after their invisibility period has ended they need other units to tank for them. Giants , and to a lesser extent, Barbarians , are good at this at low levels. A few Barchers are very effective as they will snipe a defensive building from range, especially destroying an important building such as an Air Defense or even a major defense such as the Ricochet Cannon . This is balanced by the fact that the Barchers are not very effective under heavy fire from splash damaging buildings. As such, players sometimes spread Barchers to avoid them all being picked off in one group by a Mortar , Wizard Tower or Bomb Tower , as they all deal splash damage, however this is less likely to happen since they have an invisibility time.

  • Players can use Barchers (or any similarly expendable troops like Archers) first to test what troops are in the defending player's Clan Castle , where any traps and Hidden Teslas are. However, if the Clan Castle is centralized such that its trigger area is behind Walls , Barchers will be less viable for the purpose of triggering it since the Barcher is a ranged unit and is invisible for the first few seconds, and other units that can more easily bypass Walls and target defenses (such as Balloons or Hog Riders ) are recommended instead. If the Clan Castle is exposed, you can easily snipe the Clan Castle with a few Sneaky Archers, so that the Clan Castle wil not deploy its troops.

  • Placing non-defensive buildings in front of defenses is a good idea. The Barchers will be distracted and therefore turn visible before they lock on to a defense, wasting their ability duration.
  • Barchers are can be taken out in two or more shots by most defenses , but it will take one shot to destroy them, provided that if there is a strong enough defense such as the Scattershot . Since most of the tanks are melee, try to separate them by any means to start destroying them.
  • Try to put your Clan Castle in a compartment at least 2 tiles away from Walls where it cannot be sniped easily by Barchers, which then allows the Clan Castle to deploy its troops.
  • You could have a maximum of 113 Barchers at one time in a complete set of fully upgraded Army Camps . On the battlefield, you could clone an additional 56 Barchers with four fully upgraded Clone Spells (three from the regular spell inventory and one from a level 10 or higher Clan Castle). These total to a maximum of 169 Barchers.
  • The appearance of the Barcher has errors in battle. In its artwork, its skin is pastel blue and its hair is pink, much like the Archer , but in battle, the Barcher's hair is more vibrant, and has turquoise skin.
